Movie Review: I Love You, Man
by Mary Pomilla
Spring can sometimes be a slow time for movies, because the awards season has just passed. Luckily, this spring brings us I Love You, Man, a comedy that stands out amongst the rest.
The film revolves around Peter (Paul Rudd) who has recently become engaged. Without a best friend to serve as a best man, Peter struggles on a series of “man-dates” in attempts to find a companion. Finally, he befriends the cool and relaxed Sydney (Jason Segel). Trouble begins when Peter’s fiancée becomes jealous of Sydney.
The hilarious cast of I Love You, Man makes this bromance comedy a hit. Jason Segel starred in comedy film Forgetting Sarah Marshall and cult-hit television series Freaks and Geeks, while Paul Rudd has appeared in such comedies as Wet Hot American Summer, Anchorman, Role Models, and Knocked Up. The storyline of I Love You, Man would not be able to sustain itself without the perfect chemistry between this comedic duo.
However, the movie is not only funny, but it is sweet as well. Director John Hamberg achieves a balance between sometimes raunchy, crude humor and charming characters. I Love You, Man would be considered a basic and stupid teen comedy were it not for the lovable, goofy characters.
I Love You, Man has all the makings for a successful teen comedy: a great cast, a lot of humor, and a coherent plotline. Combining crudity and sweetness, I Love You, Man is comedic gold.

Funny, just funny. I actually just got done watching that movie(:
